Here is an example of a typical day:
• Breakfast, followed by arrivals and school or nursery drop-offs.
• Creative play such as painting, play-dough or cooking.
• Or Outings to Toddler group or the park
• Snack time
• Outside play (weather permitting) or home corner role play, trains, cars bricks
• Lunch
• Nap, or quiet time with stories and picture books. (Sleeping children are checked at regular intervals, and a monitor is always used for babies.)
• Drink and a snack
• Music and singing
• Collecting children from school
• Free play for younger ones; homework, computer, games or craft activities for older ones
• Tea time
• Help with tidy up time
• Story time and quiet time
• Home time
Great care is taken to ensure that all ages, genders, abilities, and cultural and social backgrounds are catered for throughout the day.
Every day I provide lots of opportunities for playing in the fresh air, including:
• Rear garden: using sand pit, water, trikes and other ride on toys
• ball games, hoops, slide, mini trampoline etc
• Allotment garden
• Local parks
• Visits to nearby attractions such as Paradise Park and Drusilla’s. National Trust buildings and park areas.
• The seaside, especially in school holidays!
Inside there is lots of space to play freely with toys and games, read books or be creative with arts and crafts.
I am constantly adding to our stock of toys for all ages and abilities. For babies and toddlers I have a lovely range including shape sorters and stackers, pop-up toys, soft vinyl character toys, teddies and dollies, rattles and musical toys, picture books, plus much more.
