My name is Marie-Louise Hodgson and I am an Ofsted registered childminder.

I am 28 years old and live in a quiet cul-de-sac with my husband Allan and our 2year old son, Sebastian. I have until very recently been in full time employment, so I have a full understanding of the difficulties facing parents regarding working hours etc, so I offer a very flexible service to work around these problems. I work weekends and bank holidays, including Christmas week. I have completed and hold certification for paediatric first aid and Safeguarding Children. I have also completed a Risk Assessment course and a Speech&language development therapy course.I am also in the prosess of doing my nvq level 3 in childcare.
I offer a warm, safe and caring environment for children. I have a nicely sized garden, which has been approved by Ofsted as “child friendly”, and for those inevitable rainy days, I have a conservatory which I have turned into a child’s play area full of books, toys, puzzles and games. I also have a WII and balance board with fun party games, a good variety of sing along cd’s and educational children’s DVDs. I have a quiet room for the children where they can nap or read.
My aim is to keep the children in my care fully occupied and happy, and to enjoy their days with me and the other children. I love the outdoors and keeping fit, and like my children to be the same too, so we will be doing lots of activities on a daily basis ,including ; trips to the park, playgroups, libraries, Chester Zoo, Knowsley Safari Park , Delamere Forest, the beach and so on. Other activities we will be doing include singing and dancing, dressing up, arts & crafts and anything that will get their imaginations going! I apply the Early Years Foundation Stage in everyday activities so children are safe and have fun while they learn! As part of the EYFS I do assessments to identify problem areas children might have and focus on that to help them achieve goals. I will always keep parents up to date and discuss any concerns I might have with them in confidential.
I have recently had my Ofsted inspection and got rated GOOD in all areas
