Hi, I use my middle name so please call me Vicky. I live in Wyberton with my husband, two children aged 8 and 10 and a soppy cat called Mog. My setting believes in 'family values' and we shall endeavour to work alongside parents in providing high quality childcare in their absence.
I have an assistant that works alongside me whom I have known for many years. Between us we will ensure that your child feels safe and secure in a happy and inviting environment. Your child's individual needs will always be our paramount concern.
The setting is a new business with a brand new playroom, and self-contained toilet area. It contains a wide range of equipment and facilities for all ages and stages of development. We have created a homely environment for the children where they can play and learn in a relaxing, happy setting whilst socialising with other children and adults.
I have worked in childcare for 18 years. During that time i have worked as a deputy manager in several settings, lead baby rooms and gained experience in working with babies, toddlers and pre-school aged children. I have also raised two children of my own.
My assistant has many years of experience in working with children, mainly within a pre-school.
Whilst in our care your child will have a learning journey showing their developmental progress, milestones, interests and achievements, in the form of a scrap book. I have developed a sound knowledge of The Early Years Foundation Stage and this will reflect through the level of care that your child receives. Our focus is on child led play whereby your child will learn through having fun and playing in a stimulating, rich environment.
I studied at Boston College for two years and gained a Btec National Diploma in Nursery Nursing, I also won the award for Nursery Nurse of the Year!
Over the years I have completed many courses to improve my knowledge and skills and recently completed the first year of my foundation degree in children's services and early years. By 2013 I shall have achieved a BA Honours in Early Years and Early Year’s Professional Status. I also hold a recent first aid certificate, safeguarding children awareness certificate and criminal record check (CRB).
My assistant is a qualified Nursery Nurse and also holds up to date first aid and safeguarding children awareness certificates and a CRB check.
