'Outstanding' childminder in Sunbury

My name is Elizabeth Millet. I am an 'Outstanding' registered childminder in Sunbury-on-Thames. I am a qualified teacher (with 3 years experience in Reception and Year 1 classes) and am NNEB qualified (with 9 years experience working in nurseries with children from birth-5). I have also completed the Introduction to childminding course (CHIP) and have a valid First Aid Certificate from St John Ambulance. I have an enhanced CRB and have completed the Safeguarding Children course (compulsory for childminders).

I am married with two children aged 2 and a half and 9 months. My husband is French and so our children are bilingual. I speak basic French and so if you would like your child to begin to learn another language from an early age I would be more than happy to introduce them to some simple early words and phrases.

I run my childminding service from my own home. We are a non-smoking family with no pets. Our house is clean, safe and child-friendly. We have a through lounge-dining room which is the main area where the children will be cared for, so there is a seperate place to play and eat and plenty of space.

We also have an enclosed garden which is safe for the children to play in and is equipped with a number of outdoor toys. For younger children who still need a nap this can be accommodated in one of the bedrooms upstairs depending on individual needs. I have a travel cot.

I offer a range of activities on a daily basis including arts and crafts, construction, role play, etc as well as taking the children on regular outings to the park, the library, soft play etc.

I am an Ofsted registered childminder and was awarded an Outstanding grade at my last inspection in 2010.
